Chapter 6

Living in New York City offered plenty of good blood to feast on, or going for the kill, just depended on which neighborhoods you went to. I needed to find at least three good sized, up to no good, swimming in evil, men to take care of what I needed. No fun for me tonight, well, maybe afterwards but then again, I wanted to make sure I reserved my strength cause I was going to seriously need it. I headed over to the East Side where I was 100% positive I’d find some game.

“Efferion! Efferion!” I called out, knowing full well she wasn’t far from me. She wasn’t appearing and I knew exactly why and what she wanted. I cursed under my breath because she was going to make me say it. “Annalise!” And there she was, standing before me in my living room, looking absolutely delectable. I pushed these thoughts aside. I had to focus on business and yelling at her for the other night’s gift. She stood with her hands behind her back, evil temptress.

Chapter 4

The sun rose to bring me out of my death-like sleep. I sat up and glared at my magically repaired sword and armor. The sword lightly glowed its pale blue shade once again as if it had never been broken off inside of the Murdo’s chest. I knew it had been a specially made sword, a gift, I think, to my vampire clan from some mystical people who live at the North Pole. Why they gave it to us, I have no idea but it was the only thing that stopped Vinsan from killing us all that night. It was by pure chance that I got that sword, right place, right time, cause he broke my last sword while we were fighting. Who knew it would do the trick? The council let me keep what was left of it as a token of their appreciation. I was hailed as a hero. I still get some recognition now, thankfully not like had been back in the day, but some thank yous still get thrown at me now and then.

Chapter 19

The sound of the morning birds woke me. The sun was already filling the room with its warm golden rays. Oh dear God, what a night! Was it real, my mind wondered. Had we really made love so many times? The dull ache that resonated from in between my legs was all the answer I needed. I felt the space of the bed that was next to me. Empty as usual. His absence made me wonder what time it was and then the thought hit me, my time with him was over today. I was going back to my time and my friends and soon. Oh, I was a mess! I just had the most amazing night of my life with the man that I loved but now I had to leave him forever. I covered my face with his abandoned pillow. I just wanted to scream.

Chapter 3

Ricky was exactly the wrong person for me to talk to about my Efferion problem, but I did it anyway.  I was bubbling over on the inside, it had to spill over somewhere.  I just had to watch how much I allowed to leak out.  I found him at our regular hunting place; the bar from the other night.

"Hey Sash, ready for some fun tonight?" His usual greeting.

"Uh yeah.  Um, I want to say something about how I left a few weeks ago."

Sorry, I've been sick and had no time to sit down.  This chapter will be mildly different than the original but not to worry, it's not a big change.

I don’t know how long I sat there in the lightless kitchen, crying like a baby. It felt like eons had passed. I couldn’t move.
